I booked a room for myself and my family and arrived at the hotel around 12 PM. Unfortunately, we were told that check-in was only available at 2 PM. To pass the time, we explored the area in search of lunch, but were disappointed to find that there weren’t any decent food options nearby — even Google reviews didn’t help. If you’re planning to visit, I’d suggest just making it a short trip and not expecting much in terms of food.
I was genuinely excited about staying here because of the Japanese Village, but that too turned out to be quite underwhelming. You need to climb and hike to reach it, which would have been fine if the experience was worth it. However, the village itself was very small, mostly greenery, with only two or three tiny houses that serve more as photo props than anything else.
When we finally checked in, the room we were given had a door that was extremely difficult to open and close, which felt unsafe. I noticed other rooms seemed to have the same issue. Because of this, I decided to cancel our stay. I spoke to the manager, who told me I could try requesting a refund through the third-party site I booked with. He said if they were okay with it, he would approve it on his end — even though the booking was marked non-refundable.
However, after submitting the refund request, it was rejected without any explanation. I tried to speak with the manager again, but he conveniently disappeared into the toilet and never came back. Before leaving, I was told by the receptionist that the manager would reach out to me — but I never heard back.
To make things worse, there’s no Grab or regular taxi service available in the area. You’re forced to go through the hotel to arrange transport, which costs 2–3 times more than usual rates.
All in all, a very disappointing experience. I had high hopes for this stay, but it fell short in almost every way.
